Phoenix Building Systems Ltd was founded in 2003 by Martyn Taylor, Martyn retired in February 2023 and the business was taken over by his son’s Michael Tayor and Steven Taylor as the Managing Directors and Jayne Wilson as the Commercial Director. All the Directors are passionate about upholding the values that Phoenix have established over the years whilst simultaneously expanding the company’s services to fulfill the needs of customers across multiple sectors. The result is an independent, family run business with decades of experience and a highly skilled team that turns dreams into reality.

Based in Hull, East Yorkshire, our team of modular building specialists works with private businesses and public sector organisations both on our doorstep and all around the UK. We pride ourselves on a strong reputation that has been built up over many years, which is demonstrated by our dedication to delivering an exceptional service every time.

We work with fellow companies in the modular industry as well as end users, which range from commercial businesses, not-for-profit organisations, educational institutions and healthcare facilities to property developers, landlords and homeowners. With a team of 30 skilled engineers and craftspeople in our factory and another dozen in our offices, we have the resources to take on projects of any scale.

As a proud Hull-based business, we never miss a Hull City football match! As well as cheering on The Tigers, we also sponsor the club as a way of giving back to our community and helping Hull City to continue its commitment to sporting excellence.


We’re a member of the Modular & Portable Building Association, which has been connecting all sectors of the modular and portable building industry since 1938. Our membership provides us with a sounding board for new ideas as well as the latest insight for solving complex problems.


Michael Taylor – Joint Managing Director (right)
Michael is highly qualified and has over 23 years, experience within the Modular Building Industry, he is responsible for the collation of all production drawings from the procurement of steel to all the finishes and the final production drawings. 

Steven Taylor – Joint Managing Director (centre)
Steven has over 23 years, experience within the Modular Building Industry from modular on site installation of our buildings, overseeing the manufacturing process in the factory and day to day running of the Company.

Jayne Wilson – Commercial Director (left)
Jayne has over 23 years experience within the Modular Building Industry and has many year’s experience pricing tenders and general Modular Enquires to a high standard.  Jayne also runs the Sales enquiry side of the business and is hands on with the day to day running of the Company.

All the Directors are very Client based and deal directly with all Phoenix Building Systems Clients, they are very passionate about the company and have great team behind them in all departments.
